There are not the marks of a prospering or forward-looking nation. May be I am becoming cynical as I grow older and may be things are no better in other countries like Canada, UK etc. But sometimes I feel as if I am watching a bad comedy show in slow motion. I question myself if my son, a US citizen by birth, will end up growing in a 2nd world country. America was built by immigrants who came here with no sense of entitlement...just hope.....whether it was the Jamestown settlers....the Bavarian farmers....the Irish escaping the potato famine....the East Europeans fleeing communism.....and the recent Indian, Chinese, Japanese and other Asian populations looking to escape corruption and nepotism back home.... I fail to see how people these days forget this....one of my good friends acknowledges that his grandparents came as refugees fleeing strife in Europe but at the same time curses immigrants for the current woes.....and this guy is not a racist....an entire generation has been brought up to use the i-word as the substitute for the n-word since that is now politically incorrect....:mad: How can you be so mean specially at a time when he is under tremendous pressure. IV should try to comfort him and suggest him some alternatives. Contact your attorney ASAP and ask him to try to have a good write up and send the application again, who knows USCIS might accept your application (worst case ur app will come back again), but make it fast dont delay anymore. I cant imagine how much time/effort has been put into this effort by core members (as a relatively inactive member I myself could have easily spent several hundred hours on these forums in last year and half; and atleast some time in calling/faxing etc.). After all these efforts and seeing the current bill its understandable to get deeply disappointed. But dont lose hope yet. Its not over. Logiclife - coming this from you really shook me. At one point you were so confident that having our measures in any future CIR is but gauranteed - we thought its just a matter of time. All of us were also thinking that we are in a better position to introduce and enact amendments in this congress. We still have time (2 weeks) for amendments - why are we thinking about alternate arrangements and slowly losing hope. Does this show our level of confidence now or this thread is meant for some light hearted fun?
