Registration is required for the health screenings, which include: Blood pressure check, oxygen saturation, cholesterol and lipid profile, vitamin D level, prostate specific antigen (PSA), bone density screening, complete blood count, complete chemistry profile, thyroid profile, hemoglobin A1C and blood type. Vascular screenings include carotid artery vascular screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral vascular disease. The hospital will also continue to offer free screenings for patients with COPD or emphysema, for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin, or AAT, deficiency. I have been told by three different cardiac surgeons that if they operated on me my odds of dying would be 95% and if I did survive I would be a vegetable. The following is a list of my ailments. Because they all belong to a main HMO I’m wondering if what they are saying is correct or if they are just saying that to save the HMO income. I’m on Medicare and Medicade so I do not have income to get opinions outside of my HMO. Anyone know?
