Classy lady with a love for great food
NAJWA Mahiaddin never fails to mesmerise anyone she meets with her charming smile and bubbly personality. On top of that, she also possesses the sweetest and most soulful voice, which she expresses through her songs.
New to the entertainment scene but already making her way up to the top of the industry, she's all professional, letting the beautiful self-penned stories in her songs do the talking. Her debut album, Innocent Soul at one of her favourite hang out spots, Wondermilk Cafe situated at Damansara Utama.
While sipping the Wondermilk Banana drink and enjoying her favourite cupcakes, Najwa shared her current updates, insights on her inspirations in song writing and revealed how much she loves food. She is now busy promoting her debut record, launched back in March.
"I am back for the semester break and I couldn't be happier than being with my family and friends here again!" she said.
"So far the promotions and publicity I'm getting for my album is totally overwhelming and I feel so blessed to be able to work with great team around me."
Doing a bachelor in music and majoring in contemporary writing and production, Najwa considers herself extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to expand her knowledge in music.
"It's actually a transfer programme from my previous college, International College of Music (ICOM)," said Najwa. "I have completed my music degree there for two years and now I will have to complete another two years in Berklee. I've finished my first semester and there are three more to go.
"I always believe that there are no ends in learning anything," she continued. "Therefore I always force myself to move forward in achieving more knowledge that I need to help my progress in becoming a polished singer and songwriter. The learning experience I got in Berklee is totally amazing. I get to learn everything that I need to know, including interesting subjects like Jazz Improvisation and Conducting," Najwa added.
Somehow, even with her tight schedule and busy performances, Najwa is not overwhelmed in prioritising and focusing on her studies.
"I think I'm getting used to the hectic scheduling already," said Najwa. "Plus, I love doing all this. I just want to keep writing and constantly better myself as a musician where I do not just sit and be comfortable at where I am now. I want to expand more in terms of sounds and the quality. In fact, I'm going to have a show at this coming KLMusic Festival at Istana Budaya on July 2," she added.
